The Difference Between Steam Carpet Cleaners and Rug Shampooers

What's the difference in these appliances? Carpet cleaner. Rug shampooer. Carpet extractor. Carpet steamer. Carpet steam cleaner. And Steam carpet cleaner. Say to yourself...there is no difference. There is no difference. All these names refer to the same appliance. An appliance that cleans your carpet in pretty much the same fashion as other appliances with the similar name. Don't be confused by this piece of information.

Although you may see the name "steam" in the description, all these carpet cleaning appliance do NOT use steam for cleaning. They use uses hot water and occasionally chemical solutions pushed into your carpet, then extracted with a powerful vacuum. You can find a piece of equipment known as a steam cleaner, but its normally not the piece of equipment you use at home or on your carpet. Steam cleaners are used on engines, and occasionally on carpet spots where the carpet can handle the intense heat. Carpets that can handle the heat are usually commercial type installations.

SteamVac Cleaner

There is a difference between a vacuum cleaners and a steam carpet cleaner. Vacuums use an air pump to suck dirt and dust from carpets. Carpet cleaners do more. After injecting inject a cleaning solution into your rug, they stir it up trying to loosen all the dirt, then extract the fluid and the dirt. When you are planning to clean your carpet, its a good idea to use "green" chemicals in your cleaning. No matter how good the cleaner is, some residue can get left behind. If you have young children or pets, green is good.

The Difference Between Steam Carpet Cleaners and Rug Shampooers

Here are key features of the so called steam carpet cleaners.

Water temperature. Some units have heating elements, or you bring the hot water yourself by pouring it into the machine. All home carpet cleaners clean the same basic way. Hot water, injected into the carpet, then pulled back out to leave the surface, and slightly below the surface cleaner. The heat of the water is one of the most critical features in getting your carpets clean. One difference in these machines, smaller units with only one element don't get as hot or as quickly as the larger units.

You'll want separate solution and recovery tanks. The bigger these tanks are, the stopping and starting you'll do as you work on your rug. The recovery tank contains the dirt pulled from your carpet.

The less water on your carpet the better. Water is pretty much an enemy of carpet. You'll want a cleaner that uses low flow technology. You'll get less water in your carpet and be able to put the room back to use in the shortest time. Another advantage of less water in your carpet is less chance for mold or mildew and less damage to your carpet.

Certain steam carpet cleaners have a feature called temperature control. As we learned earlier, the higher temps mean better cleaning. However, there are delicate carpets that cannot handle heat or high temperatures. If you have a machine with the ability of your machine to control the water temperature helps you be more flexible.

Rigorous vacuuming alone won't keep your carpets clean, but it is a good start. Regular vacuuming is effective to eliminate surface and dust particles. However, vacuuming won't eliminate stubborn stains, dirt, and grime on the carpet surface, fibers, or base. Carpet manufacturers recommended cleaning your carpet every 12 to 18 months. No matter how you describe what you are doing to your carpet, you're using the same product. Steam carpet cleaners, carpet steam cleaners, rug shampooers, carpet cleaners, carpet steamers, or carpet extractors. Your home will be healthier and cleaner, and you'll know exactly the appliance you need to get the job done.

Steam Cleaners on Late Night Infomercials

I never new what a steam cleaner was until I saw one on an infomercial one night. Those infomercials are so well made and persuasive that despite my better judgement, I found myself ordering one of their units and eagerly awaiting it's arrival.

This type of a cleaner is sort of like a new toy for a big kid because now I was going to be able to clean with steam. What a cool concept and one that the infomercial made very appealing. I mean, I always cleaned my sink and toilets and other things but I never got them "steam" cleaned. Being able to clean them so that they were sanitary enough to eat off of was something that sounded very exciting.

SteamVac Cleaner

Of course what came in the mail worked nowhere like what was advertised on television. In fact, playing with the steam aspect of the cleaner wasn't really fun at all after I realized that it wasn't cleaning like I saw on TV. On the TV spot they showed the steam coming out of the nozzle and decimating the dirt, just ripping it off the counters and sinks. It was truly spectacular how easy and fun it looked.

Steam Cleaners on Late Night Infomercials

In reality though, the steam was just a little trickle that did very little to do away with the dirt. Even after setting it to the highest setting, it did very little to clean my sink's surface. I assumed I was doing something wrong but no matter what I did, the cleaner failed to clean.

Steam can actually help clean things if it is harnessed correctly. It is common in carpet cleaning machines and can be used effectively to sanitize your carpets. But the handheld steam cleaner I got in the mail certainly wasn't a machine that could clean anything. It serves me right for my weak late night moment of watching infomercials.

We all know that cruise ships are great getaway on the high seas. But did you know that cruise ships in all shapes and sizes are available for sale? Depending on your budget, you could buy a cruise ship for a steal at million, or the price can rise into the millions. The price depends on the size of the ship, passenger amenities and its condition. The metal used in building the ship is important too, because rust would prove to be a negative selling point.

Most cruise ships have staterooms, public rooms, cabins, scullery (pantries), dining halls, entertainment areas and swimming pools. Space for retail outlets such as bookstores, gift, souvenir shops and hair salons, may or may not be present depending on the cruise ship. A spa, health and fitness club, and sports bar are also built into most of the cruise liners. Sanitary facilities should be examined closely in all cabins and public areas to know what basic amenities are available.

Sale

The scullery usually is equipped with all necessary appliances including ovens (conventional, convection and microwave), stoves, toasters, refrigerators, coolers, pots and pans and all the ingredients to provide the guests with the best meals during their journey.

Passenger observation decks are on most cruise ships to allow passengers to enjoy the beauty of the sea while the ship is on the move. Most of the cruise ships also come equipped with a casino housing gaming tables like blackjack, roulette, poker, dice and slot machines. There is usually a satellite connection for televisions provided in all the mega liners to entertain guests.

Some of the most important amenities on a cruise ship are located in the pump room, chiller room and office rooms. Other important cruise ship information would include the security available for guests and their valuables, provisions to store perishables, makes and models of engines; space allocated for engines, generators and the rudder rooms. New cruise ships come with electrical fittings, heavy machinery such as the engines, other machinery such as those used for steering the ship, deck machinery, air compressors, fire, bilge and other necessary pumps in the pump rooms -- all the equipment required for securing and mooring the ship.

Last but not least, the cruise ship must be equipped with lifesaving equipment, as well as first aid kits to handle any emergencies. Fire extinguishers with hoses and spanners, lifebuoys, life floats, rescue boats, distress signals such as flares, common bandages, medicine chest etc., form the major part of the emergency paraphernalia.

Small Bulldozers For Sale

Sometimes, a little bit of muscle is all you need. If that's the case, then perhaps a small bulldozer is all you really need. Now, when you say small bulldozer, I'm assuming your not actually looking for a skid steer or a bobcat. Since those are really different machines. Mind you, they can do some of the same stuff, just not on the same scale as a real bulldozer, even if it is a small one. When I say small, I'm thinking of a d2, d3, or d4 Caterpillar sized bulldozer. That's still a pretty good sized machine, great for clearing trees or piles of dirt and wood from the farm.

You'd be surprised at some of the great prices you can get these for during the tough economic times, if you look around a bit. As long as the dozer has been maintained well, you should get quite a few good years out of even a used machine. That said, you may want to hedge your bet by sticking with the more reliable brand names when you buy. Caterpillar is likely the best know, and uses the same technology for it's big industrial strength dozers, as it does for it's smaller ones, so you should be safe with them.

Sale

Other good manufacturers to consider, are Case, New Holland, Komatsu, John Deere, and Liebherr. They all produce good dozers. If you can, ask for a maintenance log, used by the previous owner of the machine. First of all, if they have a maintenance log, that's a very good sign. It suggests that they were doing at least minimum upkeep on their dozer. Secondly, it should give you a pretty good idea of what you'll need to do to keep your little dozer running.

Minecraft - Dam

Built this dam over the past week. Including the reservoir we had to build, it is approximately 100 bricks long, 60 wide, and 70 tall. It was a fun project to work on, the lightstone works wonderfully, and our first time using redstone. It would be nice if water could flow through open doors. Velvet Acid Christ - The Dead (Deathwish Mix)/Lyrics

Calling Ov The Dead is track after killer track of addicting music. Here's track 5 for your aural pleasure. The video in the background is of the game Beat Hazard, another music-oriented experience. Load up the song, the enemies and difficulties follow the intensity of the music. It's not as satisfying as Audiosurf, but it's still pretty fun, and you know when you start to get a migraine from all the flashing lights that you're really enjoying yourself too much. I got my version thru the Steam network, or you can visit www.coldbeamgames.com to download the demo. One of the neatest parts of Beat Hazard is the Volume powerup that you can collect, increasing the volume of the playback - die and the volume goes back to it's normal level
